    First Day. - CUSCO - VINICUNCA – CUSCO

    We leave Cusco early in the morning and will travel by bus for 3 hours and a half. Adapting to the altitude during the trip and walking through the Vilcanota Valley, we will see small towns. When we got to the starting point of our hike (Qhechuyno), we have a rise of 3 hours appreciating the landscape and the homes of the inhabitants of the Andes. Likewise, also camelids in their natural habitat; thus reaching our goal the "Cerro Colorado" - after a certain time we will descend for 2 hours approximate until we reach our starting point where we expect a delicious lunch in the area and then return by bus.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    Physical condition:

    To go to CERRO COLORADO, you must be in good physical condition, and we recommend a preliminary stage of acclimatization of 2 days for your body to better fit during the walk, as we will be on a path of altitudes above 4000 meters. For which we recommend drinking plenty of hot mate with infusions of meant and coca which will help a lot in the process of acclimatization.

    • A light backpack with a change of clothes for the whole period of the trek - prepare for a wide range of changes in temperature.
    • Rain gear (jacket and pants if you have them available) or rain poncho. Plastic ponchos can be purchased in Cusco for about $ 1.
    • Sturdy shoes, waterproof boots for trekking is advised. Extra socks are a must.
    • Warm clothes, including jacket, fleeces, gloves, scarf and hat
    • Camera, films and batteries (batteries consume more quickly under cold conditions).
    • Hat or cap to protect from sun, rain and cold.

    DAY 1.- CUSCO - VINICUNCA – VALLE ROJO - CUSCO

    We leave Cusco very early in the morning and we will make a trip in bus of 3 hours approx. Adapting us to the altitude during the trip and crossing through the Valley of Vilcanota small towns and a very distant Inca site. In the village of Japura we have a buffet breakfast and continue a 20 - minute trip to reach Kairawiri, from where we will start the walk for 2 hours and 30 minutes appreciating the landscape and the houses of the inhabitants of the Andes, as well Same as South American camelids in their natural habitat; so we reaching our goal the "Cerro Colorado or VINICUNCA" - after a certain time we head to the Red Valley to begin the descent for 3 hours, on the way we will stop to take some water. I had the time of my life in vinicunca and Cusco, I tour often all over the world, and this particular tour was so professionally organized and run like a well oiled clock by Hugo!!
