Maras - Salineras y Moray

Our tour starts with the pickup from your hotel in the city of Cusco in a private transport between the 08:30 a.m. to 08:30 a.m., then I will go to the population of Maras, passing through very typical populations that are characterized by its beautiful landscapes that we will be able to enjoy on our tour, arrival and visit to the following places:

MARAS: Located in the province of Urubamba to 3,300 masl. From there you will be able to appreciate the Vilcanota Cordillera and the snowy peaks: "The" (5.530 Chicón masl), "Putukisi" "Veronica" (5.682masl). At present this picturesque village saves attractive from the pre-Hispanic, colonial and republican, highlighting in the village streets and colonial covers with coats of arms of the noble and chiefs of the XVII and XVIII centuries.

MORAY: It is located about 7 km southwest of Maras and 53 km of Cusco with an altitude of 3,385m.s.n.m; is a unique archaeological group of its kind in the region. It is of huge natural holes, which were used by the Incas who built agricultural terraces or platforms with their respective irrigation canals, is a prototype of gases, the pit greater has a depth of 150mts and an average height between each one of the platforms of approximately 1.8mts. What is striking is the difference in average annual temperatures between the top and bottom is a difference that arrives to have up to 15°C. In this place is where you obtained incredible advances in agriculture.

• 10:00 hs. – 10:30 hs. Guided tour in the village of Chinchero.
• 11:30 hs. – 12:00 hs. Guided tour in the salt mines of Maras.
• 12:30 hs. – 13:30 hs. Guided tour in the Interpretation Center of Agricultural Moray.
• 13:30 hs. – 14:30 hs. Return transfer by bus to the city of Cusco.
